3mm minimum for each pane is standard; as the glass dimensions increase, so will the thickness of the glass.
Tempered Glass is used on all VPI Sliding Doors. Tempered or Impact glass can be used as necessary or desired on all other products.
A continuous stainless steel spacer is used with both a butyl and silicone rubber seal to ensure that the argon gas between the panes doesn’t leak out, or that moist air enters. Our glass has a .05% failure ratio after 50 years compared to the industry standard of 17% after 20 years.

All corners are laser welded making an airtight / water tight corner.
Sliding windows styles are sealed with Dual Fin Seal weatherstripping. Hinged windows are sealed with a combination of Q-lon and TPR compression seals.

Windows rollers are made of Nylon (hard Plastic that won’t rust), and the Sliding Doors rollers are made of Stainless Steel Rollers with stainless steel ball bearings.
