What is the glass thickness?

3mm minimum for each pane is standard; as the glass dimensions increase, so will the thickness of the glass.

Is tempered glass or impact-rated glass used?

Tempered Glass is used on all VPI Sliding Doors. Tempered or Impact glass can be used as necessary or desired on all other products.

Which materials are used for the spacer and seals between panes?

A continuous stainless steel spacer is used with both a butyl and silicone rubber seal to ensure that the argon gas between the panes doesn't leak out, or that moist air enters. Our glass has a .05% failure ratio after 50 years compared to the industry standard of 17% after 20 years.

Is desiccant or other agent used to reduce moisture from occurring between the glass panes?

Which glass coatings are available?

Our standard window glass includes 366  Low-E, with Cardinal’s “NEAT” UV Self-Cleaning Glass. Our windows will reflect approximately 80% of the sun's heat from ever entering your home, while simultaneously reducing 95% of the damaging UV rays."  Place the link to www.cardinalcorp.com after that sentence as well please.

What is the primary material used in the frame?

PVC Vinyl with UV protection provided by TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) UV inert component which is standard within the MIKRON Blend PVC."

What method is used to secure/seal frame & sash corners?

All corners are laser welded making an airtight / water tight corner.

Weather seals; quantity, type & quality of the material?

Sliding windows styles are sealed with Dual Fin Seal weatherstripping.  Hinged windows are sealed with a combination of Q-lon and TPR compression seals.

What is the primary (or only) material used for exposed mechanical parts?

Stainless Steel Hardware on all exterior locations.  Die-cast zinc is used for interior painted components.

What materials are used for the rollers on the Sliding windows and Sliding Doors?

Windows rollers are made of Nylon (hard Plastic that won't rust), and the Sliding Doors rollers are made of Stainless Steel Rollers with stainless steel ball bearings.

Are your windows rated for commercial installation?

Yes. VPI's Endurance and Envision series windows are rated for both low and high-rise commercial projects, meeting all 2018 International Building Code wind and water ratings for these projects.

Is “block” installation acceptable to the manufacturer?

We can provide either block, nail fins, or stucco frames to best suit our client's needs during installation.
